Ideally when we eat out as a family, which is more often than not, I try to make sure we visit somewhere kiddy friendly and so when I heard about More Cafe’s burger month I thought I should definitely put it on my eat-out list because who isn’t a fan of burgers?!
We certainly are, all three kids and both parents. Plus More Cafe is equally kiddy friendly with food options and seating, catering for families.
For our burger feast we had a choice of a few options to choose from and from those, we chose the classic cheese burgers in as 3 sliders, the Asian lamb burger, the short rib sliders and the teriyaki burger with wasabi mayo. Along with these we had sweet potato fries and regular fries.
My husband loves his Asian lamb burger which was mildly flavoured and slightly sweet but not too strong. The lamb was cooked more than the medium we requested but we could overlook that because of the taste.
We all enjoyed the classic cheese burgers. A wholesome, full bodied patty with gooey cheese, sundried tomatoes and crisp lettuce was really delicious.
The teriyaki burger was misleading through because I couldn’t taste much of anything teriyaki and I missed the wasabi mayo altogether because it was served separately and looked almost identical to the regular mayo. It still tasted good even without a prominent teriyaki flavour and it was wiped out with the rest.
The last lot that we ordered were the short rib sliders. They tasted great but unfortunately were too oily to eat more than a few bites of. If these were significantly less oily, the sliders would probably have been the star of the meal.
All the burgers were served with fries, and I enjoyed the sweet potato fries the most.
Drinks were fresh juices, none of which were overly sweetened which was great, a tangy soda which I liked and the pineapple and strawberry soda, that was also good.
To end off our meal, we savoured a dreamy Umm Ali and a luscious chocolate cake.
A nice variety of burger choices on the menu to keep us returning to More Cafe, particularly for the cheese burgers.
